Only…

Only a human would, upon reflection on how blessed he or she is, reach out his or her hand and demand more…

Busy Thoughts

…and it was gone, seemingly as quickly as it had arrived. The page turned on his ordinary life, bringing a new week. Gone was the weekend, the time of respite, the sunshine, the time to think carefree thoughts. “They say life is short,” he mused to himself, thinking back to just a few minutes ago, as a lady crossing the street out of turn, absorbed in the pale lettering on her cellular phone screen, who would have been far worse off had the driver not been so observant. Thinking back to days gone by, he remembered friends he used to have and the times they used to share. Times hopefully not past yet.

These thoughts occupied him while he walked down the street, past the pedestrians and the traffic lights. He rounded the corner, under the overcast sky, and opened the door to his apartment complex.

“I wonder if I have mail today…”

Classroom Symphonia

Just found some old poetry I wrote…

He asked her once,
   He asked her twice.
One would think
   That would suffice.

Instead she turns
   her gentle cheek,
“I won’t go out
   with such a geek.”

“Well fine” he says,
   a bit dismayed.
Inside, it’s like
   a small grenade.

“I wouldn’t want
   to be with you,
you silly, goggled
   kangaroo.”

Taken aback,
   she hides away
the lunch she’d brought
   for him today.

Again they part.
   “It’s not today.”
They tuck their feelings
   safe away.

Instead of what
   was meant to be;
The perfect…
   …two-part…
      …symphony.

This poem is a work of fiction.  There is no relation to any real people, organizations, events, or other names and phenomena.  It’s all made up.  If anything seems familiar, it’s just your imagination.

Merry Christmas to all…

…and to all a good night!

Any dream at all…

Any dream will come true…?

If what were really true…
What…would I wish for?

Right now…
I don’t really know what it is that I really wish for…

I…
Don’t even want to know.

What would you wish for?

Falling

Falling…
Slowly, but surely.
Like a virus; a poison,
Latching inside.

Just a little more each day;
Consuming.

…I’m so happy, I could die.
